How do I reactivate an inactive Amazon listing?
First find out why it is inactive, because the fix depends on the reason. In Seller Central, go to Inventory > Manage All Inventory and filter the listing status to Inactive. The status shows the reason: out of stock, closed, a potential pricing error, missing information, approval required, or a policy issue. Restock an out-of-stock listing, use Relist on a closed one, correct the price in Pricing Health, add missing details in Fix your products, request approval for gated items, or resolve the issue in Account Health. Most fixes take effect within 24 hours.
Where do I see why my listing is inactive?
Amazon's seller guidance points to these places in Seller Central:
- Inventory > Manage All Inventory. Change the Listing status filter from Active to Inactive. There is also a Search Suppressed and Inactive Listings view, and a Suppressed tab appears when you have suppressed listings.
- Fix your products (sellercentral.amazon.com/fixyourproducts) lists listings with issues and what is missing.
- Pricing > Pricing Health, Inactive Offers tab, shows offers deactivated for potential pricing errors.
- Account Health, Policy Compliance section, shows listings removed for safety, compliance or policy reasons.
- Fix stranded inventory shows FBA stock that has no active listing.

|---|---|---|
| Out of stock | The listing is fine but has no available quantity | Add quantity (FBM) or send inventory (FBA) |

| Approval required | The category, brand or product is gated | Request approval to sell |
| Policy or compliance | The listing was removed for a policy, safety or document issue | Resolve and appeal in Account Health |

How to reactivate an inactive listing, step by step
Find the reason
Go to Inventory > Manage All Inventory, set the listing status filter to Inactive, and read the status shown next to the listing. Check the Suppressed tab as well: a listing can be hidden from search even when it does not show as Inactive.
Out of stock: add inventory
For seller-fulfilled listings, edit the quantity in Manage All Inventory. For FBA, create a shipment; the listing returns once Amazon receives and makes the units available. An Amazon staff member has explained that a listing at zero quantity shows as currently unavailable but is not removed.
Closed: relist it
Amazon staff describe the fix as: in Manage All Inventory, filter by Inactive, open the dropdown on the listing row and choose Relist (or Reactivate listing). Relist only appears for closed listings. If it is missing, the listing is inactive for another reason, so fix that first.
Potential pricing error: review the price
Go to Pricing > Pricing Health and open the Inactive Offers tab. Amazon says it shows offers deactivated for potential pricing errors and may suggest actions to reactivate them. Correct the price if it is wrong, and set a minimum and maximum price so the price sits inside your range. If you use a repricer, update its limits too, because they are separate from Seller Central's. See our full guide to resolving potential pricing errors.
Missing information or suppressed: complete the listing
Amazon staff describe two ways to fix it. In the Suppressed view or in Fix your products, enter the missing value in the issue column and save. Or choose Edit on the listing, add the details and save. For image problems, upload a main image that meets Amazon's product image requirements. If there is an attribute conflict, the Accept Amazon's Value option can resolve it. Amazon staff say updates can take up to 24 hours to appear. Our guide to fixing search-suppressed listings goes into more detail.
Approval required: request approval
Search for the product in Catalog > Add Products and use the option to apply to sell or request approval. Some requests are approved straight away; others need invoices from a manufacturer or distributor, or a letter from the brand. Amazon notes that some restrictions cannot be appealed.
Policy or compliance: fix and appeal in Account Health
Open Account Health and find the listing under Policy Compliance. Amazon moved product safety compliance from the Manage Your Compliance dashboard into Account Health during 2025, so check both if you have older notices. Correct the detail page, upload the documents requested (such as test reports, certificates or invoices), and include a plan of action where asked: the root cause, what you changed and how you will prevent it happening again.
Stranded FBA inventory: reconnect it
Open the Fix stranded inventory page, read the stranded reason for each item and choose the action in the row, such as relisting or creating a removal. Amazon can relist some stranded items automatically after 30 days by default; you can change this under Edit automatic-action settings. Stranded stock is removed after the period you set, so act quickly. Our stranded inventory guide covers each reason.
How long does reactivation take?
| Change | Typical time | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Detail page updates on a suppressed listing | Up to 24 hours | Amazon staff, Seller Forums |
| Wait after deleting a listing before relisting it | 48 hours | Amazon staff, Seller Forums |
| Vacation settings switching FBM listings inactive | Up to 1 hour | Amazon staff, Seller Forums |
| Stranded inventory automatic actions | 30 days by default | Amazon announcement |
| FBA listing after a restock | When Amazon receives the units | Depends on the shipment |
If a listing is still inactive 24 hours after you fixed the cause, contact Selling Partner Support with the SKU, ASIN and what you changed.
Troubleshooting checklist
- Is the account in good standing? Listing reactivation will not stick while an account-level issue is open.
- Is vacation mode off for every marketplace?
- Does the listing have quantity and a price, and is the price inside your minimum and maximum?
- Is it suppressed as well as inactive? Check the Suppressed tab.
- Are there open issues in Fix your products or Account Health for this ASIN?
- For FBA, is there stranded stock for the same SKU?
- Did a bulk upload or repricer change the price, images or details recently?
Common mistakes
- Looking for Relist on every inactive listing. It only exists for closed listings.
- Deleting and relisting to "reset" a listing. Amazon staff advise waiting 48 hours before relisting, and sellers report losing reviews and rank this way. For FBA, deleting the listing strands the stock.
- Leaving minimum and maximum prices blank, so Amazon's own price checks decide.
- Bulk edits that wipe content. A spreadsheet with blank columns can remove images or bullet points and suppress listings.
- Ignoring stranded inventory settings, which can lead to stock being removed or disposed of.
How to keep listings active
- Set minimum and maximum prices on every SKU, and check them after sale events.
- Review Fix your products and Account Health weekly.
- Plan FBA replenishment so best sellers do not run out.
- Read the processing report after every bulk upload.
