What did Amazon announce at Accelerate 2026?

At Accelerate 2026 in Seattle, Amazon gave Seller Assistant memory and always-on workflows, launched a Selling Partner plugin for Amazon Quick and Claude, added Sponsored Products auto-optimization, and started rolling out multichannel tools for eBay, Shopify, TikTok and Walmart inside Seller Central. Most items are US-first and several are still in beta.

Amazon's official recap, dated September 29, 2026, says the conference was held in Seattle in September with nearly 4,000 selling partners attending. Amazon published the plugin news on September 23 and the multichannel news on September 24. Trade coverage, not Amazon, supplies the exact dates: September 22 to 24, with the Seattle Convention Center as the venue.

One reported item we could not confirm: we found no Amazon source for a program called "Time to Prime," so we have left it out. Amazon also announced Amazon Business Deals for B2B pricing, Amazon Supply Chain Services, and new tools to help choose what to launch next. We focus here on the changes that alter how you run your account day to day.

What can Seller Assistant do now with memory and workflows?

Seller Assistant now remembers your pricing patterns, inventory cycles and goals across sessions, and it can run workflows: plain-language instructions that keep monitoring your account when you are logged out. Each workflow either surfaces recommendations or takes actions, and Amazon says acting workflows need your approval and every action is logged.

According to Amazon's Seller Assistant announcement, written by Mary Beth Westmoreland, three things changed.

  • Memory. Context carries between conversations and between tools, so an old test that failed can shape a new recommendation. It also follows you into Quick and Claude if you connect the plugin.
  • Canvas. A visual workspace for modeling scenarios such as pricing options or campaign diagnosis using live data.
  • Workflows. Standing jobs written in plain English, for example an alert when a top product slips below four stars, or a competitive pricing monitor. Prebuilt templates cover account health, order summaries, pricing trends and product expansion.

Under the hood, per Amazon, Seller Assistant uses Anthropic's Claude models through Amazon Bedrock. Amazon also reports that over 90% of selling partners worldwide now have it, and that over 90% of its suggestions get accepted. Amazon also states that Seller Assistant keeps seller data inside Amazon's infrastructure.

The approval wording is not identical everywhere

Amazon's announcement says sellers review and approve actions before they are carried out. The conference recap, however, describes a choice between insight-only, drafted actions, and the assistant acting by itself, and mentions pricing adjustments that run in the background. Until you see the settings in your own account, assume an "act" workflow may execute repeatedly once you approve it, and set limits accordingly.

How does the Selling Partner plugin for Claude and Amazon Quick work?

The Selling Partner plugin connects your Seller Central data to an outside AI tool, starting with Amazon Quick and Anthropic's Claude. It shares listings, performance metrics, inventory and sales analytics, and it can take actions with your approval. It is in beta for US sellers, with international expansion promised but undated.

Amazon says the plugin carries Seller Assistant's reasoning and memory into those tools, so you can work with your Amazon numbers next to accounting, supplier or marketing files you already keep there. Per Amazon, the Claude connection takes roughly 60 seconds and needs no coding, and every plugin interaction is bound by access limits, human approval on actions and audit trails.

The Amazon Quick Plus offer is official

Some coverage of the free Quick Plus year reads like a vendor promotion, so we checked. It appears in Amazon's own announcement and in a Seller Central forum post from Amazon: a primary account holder in any country can register until December 31, 2026, to get 12 months of Quick Plus at no cost, and nominate two co-workers for the same deal. Amazon Quick is a general work assistant that handles documents, spreadsheets, research, email and calendar.

What is only in third-party reporting

  • SiliconANGLE reported international expansion "in the coming weeks." Amazon's own wording is only that expansion will follow.
  • Vendor blogs describe the plugin as unable to see your cost of goods, freight or duties. That matches what Amazon lists as shared data, but Amazon has not said it directly. Either way, profit answers from the plugin will be incomplete unless you add your own cost data.
Read the other tool's terms

Amazon says the plugin does not change how Amazon protects your data. Once your data sits inside Claude or Quick, though, that tool's own data and retention terms apply. Check them, and decide which data types to allow, before you connect.

What changed for Sponsored Products and Amazon Ads?

Seller Assistant can now check whether a product is ready to advertise, draft Sponsored Products and Sponsored Brands campaigns for you to approve, and run an auto-optimization mode that adds converting search terms, pauses weak ones and keeps bids under a maximum you set. Amazon also made Ads Data Manager free to connect first-party customer data.

Muthu Muthukrishnan, who leads Sponsored Products and Brands, presented the changes at Accelerate. Amazon says early results showed new auto-optimized campaigns getting their first sale 40% sooner, and advertisers who connect their own data through Ads Data Manager see 30% better return on ad spend. Both are Amazon's own figures without published methodology.

For a brand with a structured account, auto-optimization is most useful on new-product launch campaigns, where speed to first sale matters and there is little history to protect. It is less suited to mature accounts with tight negative keyword lists and deliberate match-type isolation, because automated harvesting can blur that structure. Two settings decide most of the risk:

  • The maximum bid. Set it from your break-even cost per click, not your current average. Break-even CPC is roughly price times margin before ads times conversion rate.
  • Which campaigns are opted in. Keep branded, defensive and top exact-match campaigns out of automated changes until you have reviewed a few weeks of the change log.

The same tools were referenced again at unBoxed a week later, where Amazon Ads renamed its console Amazon Ads Agent. If your team needs help deciding which campaigns to opt in, our campaign structure guide explains how to separate launch, research and performance campaigns so automation stays contained.

What do the multichannel and global selling tools actually do today?

Today, US sellers can link their Walmart, eBay, Shopify and TikTok stores with Seller Central, pull in and match listings from those channels, view orders in one place and fulfill them, at no added cost. One-edit listing updates across channels and a cross-channel profit view are described as coming later. The rollout is gradual.

Amazon's multichannel announcement says you begin in the Settings menu, where a new page for multichannel settings lists the channels to link, that sellers choose which channels and data to share, and that the Manage Orders page shows orders from every channel whether or not Amazon ships them. Fulfilling a Shopify order through Amazon sends tracking back to Shopify automatically.

A naming note: Amazon's conference recap says "TikTok Shop," while the detailed announcement says only "TikTok." Expect it to mean TikTok Shop order data, but confirm once the connection appears in your account. For how fulfillment from FBA stock works across channels, see our Multi-Channel Fulfillment guide.

Global selling

Amazon now frames international selling as Global From Day One. Per the recap, a Sell Globally tool compares demand around the world with what you already sell, and warehouses near sellers' factories cut storage costs by up to 45%. Amazon also says multi-country sellers average roughly 70% higher earnings, yet only around 30% of sellers list outside their home store. Those are Amazon's numbers; tax, VAT and product compliance in each new country stay your responsibility. Our international expansion guide covers the order we suggest for new marketplaces.

What should an AI agent be allowed to change in my account?

Let AI agents read everything, alert freely and act alone only on small, reversible, rule-bound changes like adding negative keywords under a bid cap. Keep pricing outside set bands, listing content, budgets, account health responses and anything touching money or permissions behind human approval. The account holder stays responsible for every action, however it was made.

Amazon has built approval steps and audit logs into Seller Assistant and the plugin. That is the minimum. The real control is deciding in advance which categories of change an agent may make, and writing that down. This is the split we use as a starting point.

AreaLet the agent actAgent drafts, human approvesHuman only
Reporting and alertsDaily summaries, stock and rating alerts, account health monitoring
AdvertisingNegative keywords and search term harvesting within a max bidNew campaigns, budget increases, bid changes above set limitsTotal monthly ad budget
PricingChanges inside a floor and ceiling you set per SKUAnything outside the band; deal and coupon pricingPrice strategy for top revenue SKUs during peak
InventoryLow-stock alertsRestock plans and shipment creationSupplier purchase orders
ListingsBullet, title and A+ copy suggestionsClaims touching safety, health or certifications; brand and variation changes
Account healthFlagging new issuesDraft responses for reviewAppeals, plans of action, policy disputes
Access and moneyUser permissions, bank details, deleting listings, plugin data scopes

Two reasons for the caution. First, automated pricing can trip Amazon's own rules: a fast series of increases during high demand can raise problems under the fair pricing policy, which we explain in our fair pricing policy guide. Second, AI-written listing copy can add claims you cannot support, which leads to suppressions or compliance notices. Accountability does not shift to the tool. Review the action log weekly, and assign one named person to own each workflow.

Who is affected, and who is not?

US sellers get almost everything first: the plugin beta, multichannel tools, Listing Protection by year-end and open lending. Seller Assistant memory and workflows reach a wider set of sellers because Seller Assistant is already in most marketplaces. UK and India sellers can claim the free Quick Plus year now but will wait for the plugin and multichannel tools.

  • US third-party sellers: affected by every item in this article. The decisions that matter now are workflow permissions and whether to connect the plugin.
  • UK, EU and India sellers: Seller Assistant changes and the Quick Plus offer apply. The plugin, multichannel tools and Listing Protection come later; Amazon has not set dates outside the US except Listing Protection, which goes worldwide in 2027.
  • Sellers who also sell on Shopify, Walmart, eBay or TikTok: the multichannel tools may replace part of your current connector software. Do not cancel existing tools until your account has the full feature set.
  • Vendors on Vendor Central: most of these changes target Seller Central, so they mostly do not apply.
  • Brands managed by an agency: ask how your agency will handle workflows and the plugin, and who approves agent actions. Our account management team sets these permissions with clients in writing.

What should I do now? A step-by-step plan

Claim the free Quick Plus year, write an agent permissions policy, start Seller Assistant workflows in recommend-only mode, and connect the plugin with limited data scopes. Hold off on letting anything act on pricing or ads until you have reviewed at least two weeks of logs, and avoid new automation during peak trading.

  1. Claim Quick Plus before December 31, 2026 if you have any use for it, and decide who your two co-workers are. Claiming does not oblige you to connect your Amazon data.
  2. Write a one-page agent policy using the table above: what agents may do alone, what needs approval, and what is human only. Include price floors and ceilings per SKU and a maximum CPC per campaign group.
  3. Turn on two or three prebuilt workflows in recommend-only mode: account health monitoring, order summaries and low-stock alerts are low risk.
  4. Connect the plugin to one tool with the narrowest data scope that does the job, after reading that tool's data terms.
  5. Review the action and recommendation log weekly for two to four weeks. Note how often you would have rejected a suggestion.
  6. Freeze new acting workflows from Black Friday through Cyber Monday and the holiday shipping cutoffs. Recommendations only during peak.
  7. In January 2027, promote reliable workflows to act mode inside the limits you set, one at a time.
  8. Check multichannel access monthly in Settings, and test it on a small set of SKUs before moving all channel orders over.

What are the common mistakes and risks?

The main risks are giving agents broad act permissions on day one, trusting beta features during Q4, sharing more data with outside AI tools than a task needs, and assuming Amazon's adoption and performance figures will apply to your account. Each is avoidable with narrow scopes, written limits and a weekly log review.

  • Act mode on pricing without bands. An agent that chases a competitor down can erase margin in hours. Always set a floor.
  • Treating approval as a formality. One-click approval invites approving without reading. Batch reviews at a set time each day instead.
  • Mixing structured and automated campaigns. Auto-optimization adding search terms into tightly isolated campaigns can create overlap and cannibalization.
  • Over-sharing data. Connect only what a task needs, and revisit scopes when staff change.
  • Reading Amazon's figures as guarantees. The 90% acceptance rate, 40% faster first sale and 30% ROAS lift are Amazon's own numbers from its users and beta tests.
  • Losing the audit trail. If several people approve agent actions under one login, the log tells you what changed but not who agreed. Use separate user permissions.

Listing Protection should reduce one long-standing risk: Amazon says that in most cases a flagged listing stays active while the seller resolves the issue. That reaches all US Account Health Assurance sellers by year-end. It is a good reason to keep your Account Health Rating in the range that qualifies.

Frequently Asked Questions

When was Amazon Accelerate 2026?

Amazon says Accelerate 2026 took place in Seattle in September 2026, with nearly 4,000 selling partners attending. Trade coverage gives the dates as September 22 to 24, with the Seattle Convention Center as the venue. Amazon published its Seller Assistant and plugin news on September 23 and its multichannel tools news on September 24.

What is the Amazon Selling Partner plugin?

It is a connector that brings Seller Assistant and your Seller Central data, including listings, performance metrics, inventory and sales analytics, into outside AI tools. It went live first in Amazon Quick, with a Claude version in beta, for sellers in Amazon's US stores. It can take actions on your account with your approval, and every interaction is logged.

Is the free Amazon Quick Plus subscription real?

Yes. Amazon confirmed it in its own announcement and in a Seller Central forum post. Primary account holders in every marketplace can register by December 31, 2026 for a year of Quick Plus at no cost, and two nominated co-workers get the same. Check the offer page in your account for current terms.

Can Seller Assistant change my prices without asking?

Amazon says you choose whether each workflow only recommends or also acts, and that actions are reviewed and approved before they happen, with every action logged. The recap also mentions pricing adjustments running in the background, so check exactly how approval works in your account and always set a price floor and ceiling first.

What are Amazon's new multichannel selling tools?

They let US sellers link Walmart, eBay, Shopify and TikTok stores with Seller Central, pull in and match listings, see all orders in one place and fulfill them, at no additional cost. Amazon says single-edit listing updates and a combined profitability view are coming. The rollout is gradual over the coming months.

What is Sponsored Products auto-optimization?

It is a mode announced at Accelerate 2026 that keeps adjusting a campaign after launch: adding search terms that perform, pausing those that do not, and keeping every bid under a maximum you set. Amazon says early results showed new campaigns using it getting a first sale 40% sooner. Amazon has not given a rollout date.

Are the Accelerate 2026 tools available in the UK and India?

Partly. Seller Assistant is already available in most marketplaces, and the free Quick Plus offer applies globally. The Selling Partner plugin and multichannel tools started in the US only, with international expansion promised but not dated. Listing Protection reaches US sellers first and goes worldwide in 2027.
